Dates for the Winter 2010 Western League cyclocross series have just been announced!

For those who are unaware, Bristol has a long-running cyclocross series, held mainly at local parks. The races are short (45 minutes plus a lap), sharp (the pace of the fast guys is pretty incredible) and heaps of fun. Mountain bikes are welcome, although bear in mind that courses are pretty 'cross-centric.

The entry fee for seniors is £10 for British Cycling licence holders, £13 for unaffiliated. Seniors races start at 11.30 unless stated.

October 3: Purdown, off Tackley Road, BS5 6UQ

October 24: Conham River Park

November 14: Hengrove Park

November 28: Ashton Court

December 12: TBC

December 19: St Georges Park
